What would you do if....

We're often such slaves to earning a living, that we forget to live!

This week-end I'll leave you with "what would you do if..."

Anything goes here! (even "I'd sit and read all day", etc...)
As long as it's your realistic honest answer :)

Hmm...what wouldn't I do? I'd definitely be partial to sitting around and reading a lot (and on many different things than I read about now, I'm sure) and also writing for pleasure rather than for pay, but I'd also like to travel--visiting everyone I know, even just through blogs, eating the wonderful food of a given place, hopefully enjoying an authentic experience of what it's like to live there (so long as I can bring P and Luna!).

That's just off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's much more I'd do as well...hmm....

6 months out of the year in Italy and 6 months out of the year in Argentina.

(Italy - live in fabulous apartment in Florence, preferably in the San Niccolo neigborhood because it's nice, start a good Tango school and host a milonga there because the tango scene in Florence really needs to grow.

(Argentina - Buenos Aires, of course! There I would dance a lot of tango. Period.)

i would tell both beautiful daughters to take a college hiatus & the six of us (hubby & 2 sons) would take our show on the road (our travel wish list is very long, makes that 1000 places book look like a short story!).

i would renovate our current home by the bay to make it completely handicap accessible & offer it to families for summer vacation (free, of course) who had a member with issues who would normally not be able to vacation at the beach.

needing a homebase, i would search out a place in rural italy & a place in the NC mountains - both simple living type spaces for a travel respite.

& i would anonymously have a fine ol' time with all the philanthropic ideas that float in my & D's minds.

i loved this question & how it made me think...honestly, aside from travel & a different (but certainly not bigger or more fussy) home, i guess that i would continue in the same mode (same foods, vehicle & clothing)...i'm not a "things" person...i a more people & experience oriented.

I would make the rest of the world my home and travel until there's nothing left to see and I'd bring my loved ones with me if they'd come.

I would travel all the time, then after many years when I finally get enough of that, buy a very big villa in Chianti, restructure it and redecorate all by myself (and my...husband? yes, I think me and jerry will be married!) from the beginning. The villa will have a beautiful garden (made by myself of course!) and also there will be a lot of dogs and cats...with our 2 kids...

damn it! this comment is so corny!!...yes, it's corny because that's really what I want...

baci bella!

That's a tough one. But, it's really a different question than "if you won X sum of money what would you do?" If money were no object, I would travel different places (with O of course), meet different kinds of people.

Now, if I won some ridiculously large sum of money, I would want to give some to charity. But, I would concentrate on the people around me. I look around me every day and see people who can't afford to further their education or fix something that's drastically wrong with their house, or afford school books or clothes for their children, etc. That's where I would start.

I would spend time in Turkiye each year, and I would hire a personal trainer and a personal chef and a live-in nanny right off the bat!!
At any rate, we would live outside of North America most of the time - but with trips back for trips to Target!

Beautiful Lives! :)

I would be happy to focus all my time on medical school and live in the historic center of Rome :)

Afterwards, I'd practice medicine leaving income out of the equation :) and return to horseback riding and serious dance lessons! :)

I'd fly across the ocean to visit my family very, very often. Get married, and show my children what the world has to offer :)

Your question is a fun one.

If I came accross some $$$, I would donate much of it to the non-profit sector, specifically to help people afflicted with drug and alcohol addictions.

I would spend more time making art, drawing/painting/sculpture.

I would travel and find a way to live in Italy, eat delicious food, learn the language, and drive a Vespa or Ducati through the cities and countryside.

Grazie,
KENT

Travel to every single city in Italy, and then to the rest of Europe, and then to the rest of the world. And eat all different kinds of foods. And buy a nice a laptop to write about it all
:)

I'd leave Toronto and live in Europe, I'd live somewhere on the Amalfi coast. I would have a villa in Tuscany, a villa in Sicily near Cefalu or Taoromina. An apartment in Termini Imerese.
And when it was cold, I go down south to the Carribean.
I would have a lemon orchard and olive orchard and call the Villa in Cefalu "VILLA VINCENZO" after my dad. The list of things would be endless and exhausting!

Those that said they would do the same are so lucky, so blessed -- then again, they have obviously worked very hard to be where they are and have sought deep down inside themselves to figure out who they are... Some days I feel so lost, a question like this somehow throws me for a loop! It is inspirational, but at the same time, I don't know where to begin to express my feelings...

I think from the point of view of where I am in my life right now, as I'm asking myself so many questions, one thing is sure, and that is that I would have children with my boyfriend and build the best future I possibly could for them -- something I want to do now, but I feel like there are so many everyday, real-life roadblocks getting in the way stopping this somehow from happening. I would help my boy to find his place in the world, and then my own place at the same time, perhaps by moving down to the Atlantic Coast to his family's vacation home, building a bed and breakfast there and raising our family there... I would read lots too, and sketch and bake, bake, bake! I would try to travel when possible, because I love that too, but above all I would want to be with the people I love, spend more time with these people because I feel like everyday work takes me away from so much that I love... So frustrating!

Thanks for inspiring me to think a bit, Farfellina, even if I'm a bit behind the times right now!
