Christmas Tree Scents

I don't understand why, but it's definitely in my nature. It's how I get energized and release built up pressure :) But under stress, I curl my hair, spend an hour doing my make-up, put on high heels, add a touch of perfume, play soft music, enjoy a pastry. It soothes me. It brings my spirits up. It re-energizes me to keep putting one foot in front of the other as I try to move forward in life... Like they say; when facing a challenge, put your best face forward!

To me, there's nothing more soothing than walking through a soft, welcoming, decorated, nicely scented home. So, inspired by San Francisco's Tree Lighting Ceremony, I went out and brought a natural Christmas tree! Immediately the home filled with that Christmassy pine scent which brings back pleasant memories.

The colors I chose for this year's Christmas Tree: Silver and Royal Blue :)

This is a small flat, so the tree entirely overpowers the living room. It brings a soft aura of optimism. Peace. Reflection. Colors, lights and scents. Makes it feel nice to be at home. Now. Tomorrow is tomorrow. Today I have this and I'll enjoy this :)

I'm jealous, your tree is bigger than mine. And real. *sigh* :)

This reminds me of my first tree when I was in a house I shared with other people in Indianapolis. Emily was put in charge of the tree and she choose those colors too. She made it very similar to yours. In my family the tree was always a complete mix of ornaments and colors. I had never thought you could have a theme. So that's great tree. I have to wait until I'm back in the States to hang out by the tree.

I just love Christmas decorations and I can't wait to get started on mine. Maybe I'll buy a real one this year too? :)

It's a beautiful tree!

Goodness this is gorgeous. We have zero room for a tree and are also in the process of moving so I'm still debating what to even dig out...but this is so inspiring to at least get *something* out :)

The shape of your tree seems so perfect - you have really allowed its beauty to come through the blue and silver!

Yes I agree, a dab of profumo or a beautiful pair of shoes can definitely lift the spirits. I fully advocate this vanity if it means feeling rested and ready to live life for all it's worth!

Such a lush looking tree! I love a beautifully decorated tree with fairy lights flashing and the scent of pine filling the air.

It looks lovely :)
I think the senses thing helps with stress because it grounds us more. It's probably a reflex from our ancestors looking for comfort in what they had - the ground beneath their feet. Maybe this is why some people say we should lie on the ground for a moment every day...

So if I see you in Italy and you're dressed to the 9's, I can assume you're a little stressed? just kidding ;-) That's a great way to be good to yourself when under pressure.

Beautiful tree! I can't believe that time of year is already here. Wow.

Hola Girl con queso,
Ah, decorating is the funnest part :)

Ciao Becca!
...and messier! I'm convinced the pine needles have little legs on them. They're all over the place!

Hola Irenita!
Ti piace? Grazie! Un arbolito es un arbolito, lo hermoso es el significado, que no :) Ciao Bella!

Ciao Jeff!
No tree at your place? Really? Wow, you probably spend half your time in cross-Atlantic flights!

Ciao Astrid!
Ja, Ja! Get a real one this year :) Hei. Liker du norsken min?

Ciao Sognatrice!
Really? You're moving, too? Mmm... I know, I have zero room, too, but removed furniture and managed to sneak something in...loved your pic today :)

Ciao Sonya!
Ah, yes, never underestimate the power of perfume! Can I tell you a secret? I think the nursery gave the tree a haircut, since it's perfectly shaped! :)

Hi Erin :)
Thank you much... I'm a big fan of ambiance :)

Hi Leanne,
"fairy lights flashing" mmm, pretty imagery! I like that :)

Ciao Devlish!
Definitely agree with you... something grounding and primitive about our senses. So much fun, too :)

Ciao Dana!
I usually prefer warm tones, but this year went for cool ones :) I see you like translating, too! I was visiting your page today about Bocelli and loved it, and was pleasantly surprised to hear about your goal and I say Go! Go! Go! :)

Ciao Maddie,
...and I was wondrously intoxicated when I woke up this morning and found the home entirely scented by Christmas pine tree! :) You have such grace with words :)

Ciao Tina!
Hehe, I was actually going to say that on the post "if I ever look really good, then..." :) Yesss, it's this time of year again!

Ciao Tui!
Grazie! Can't wait to see your tree as well! We're almost done with NaBloPoMo! One day left!!

Ciao Eryn!
White, Silver and Gold? How pretty! Ah, and I was feeling a slight ping of guilt for putting mine up so early, but I'm glad to hear someone is a big fan of holidays, too! :)

Ciao Dee!
Red and Gold are more christmassy and warm... I usually go for those tones, as well :)
