Reach for the moon!

Thomas Paine:
The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly;
it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

I love the man that can smile in trouble,
that can gather strength from distress
and grow brave by reflection.

Tis the business of little minds to shrink;

but he whose heart is firm,
and whose conscience approves his conduct,
will pursue his principles unto death.

A friend sent me this Thomas Paine quote and due to my "current transition phase" it resonates deep inside me, since despite the passing time and American comforts, an inner thirst refuses to be quenched by anything less than living my lifelong passion. I now understand what Thomas means. Indeed, I "will pursue my principles unto death". Never settle for second best! Reach for the moon!

I'm actually trying to start a translation career and would love any of your wisdom, my dear...! It's something I've had in the works for a while but I've been a little to shy to just get it going. But I've got to get it started - it's all part of my dream.
Have you been certified with American Translators Assoc.? Is it easy to find work before actually being certified? (I can't get that certification yet...) any great sites or agencies you'd recommend?
If you don't want to reply in this box let me know and I'll e-mail instead... :-)
